Beyond this though I think it is useful to emphasise the individual nature of the work we would do together. Psychotherapy in the UK is in turmoil. Self-serving psychotherapists organised in several competing trade organisations (UKCP, BCP, BACP etc.) are seeking to ring-fence the field of psychotherapy in the name of protecting the public from supposed charlatan or abusive psychotherapists. They are trying to do this by getting the Government to legitimise their claim to the whole field of psychotherapy through the introduction of specific legislation.
